Verso Corporation Safety Branding

 

With 4200 employees working mostly in paper mills, distribution centers and warehouses across the U.S., Verso has good reason to take safety seriously.

To drive home the importance of safety to their valued employees, Verso asked Black & White to create a safety branding campaign to help increase awareness within the company.

So, we decided to throw caution to the wind (it’s okay, we work behind desks) to create something memorable and unique.

A branded theme for the safety program was developed:

We incorporated a “speech box” in the design to convey the importance of creating and maintaining lines of communication within the workplace and to highlight the emotional appeals of being safe.

Verso’s Safety Do-Rights are comprised of ten specific principles that will help ensure a safer workplace. Each “Do-Right” includes unique colors and illustrations to reinforce the messaging.

We created a video to introduce the new safety brand and the ten “Do-Rights” to all Verso employees via email and for placement on their intranet.

Black & White also produced environmental graphics that are prominently displayed throughout each Verso facility as a consistent safety reminder to employees. The bright colors provide significant contrast in the manufacturing environment for maximum impact.

We named and branded a Verso webcast dedicated to safety topics.

Editable presentation templates were developed for the mill safety directors to lead safety meetings.

Hats, t-shirts and other wearables were produced to reinforce the messaging.

We even provided game ideas such as “Safety Bingo” and “Safety Feud” to help make the branding more interactive and fun.
